Archbishop donates €181,000 to Dar tal-Providenza
Archbishop Paul Cremona yesterday donated €181,000 to Dar tal-Providenza following the open day organised by the Church radio station RTK last January.
An additional €304,000 in public donations collected during the campaign has already been given to the home, which has a daily running cost of €12,000 and caters for about 100 disabled people.
RTK general manager Michael Francalanza said the station's 13th Christmas fundraising campaign in aid of the home would be officially launched on December 30.

Matthew 6:1-4 (But) take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them; otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father. When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing, so that your almsgiving may be secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

Maybe the Church is feeling guilty of procrastinating the selling of properties that were left under Her responsibilty (by means wills) to sell, and pass the procedes to Dar il-Providenza. In the meantime such properties are being left closed up and falling into ruins.
