The LSM and BCA recently organised their annual High Marks and Graduation Concert at St Aloysius' College in Birkirkara under the patronage of the senior examiner of both colleges, Alistair Gillespie.

Over the past few months, 840 Maltese students sat for the colleges' examinations, most of them obtaining excellent results. All students who obtained a distinction in both sessions of the practical (preliminary grade to grade 8) and theory examinations (grades 6-8) were presented with their certificates by Mr Gillespie. The graduation of all recital and diploma holders then followed. This was the first time that the Fellowship Diploma in Theory FLSM (Hons) was awarded.

The concert featured performances by students who classified first in both the December and April practical grade exams in their respective instruments.

These included guitarist Twanny Sultana and accordionist Mariel Agius, who were each awarded a certificate of achievement, and 17 pianoforte and guitar diploma students performing repertoire ranging from J.S.Bach to S.Joplin.

The performances were concluded by Fellowship graduate Angele Galea who played Pagodes and Jardins sous la Pluie by C. Debussy.

The event was organised by Rita Psaila, who has just been appointed new LSM and BCA local representative.
