Future of unions

With reference to my article titled The Future Of The Unions published yesterday, it seems that my intentions have been misinterpreted.

I was not referring to the issue of the social pact when I stated that the UĦM was not in agreement but to the issue of the unions uniting.

I wrote: "Over the last few years, the GWU has expressed its intentions of uniting the unions and agreeing on a social pact. That plan did not materialise because, this time round, it was the UĦM that could not agree". What I was referring to, was the unity of the unions and not the social pact.

The issue of the social pact not materialising is certainly not to be blamed on the UĦM. I regret any inconvenience caused.
