Accommodation establishments saw a drop of 4.4 per cent in the occupancy rate in September when compared to the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Office.

Moreover, the number of nights spent were 810,293, down 7.8 per cent over September 2007. The largest drop was in three-star hotels.

The NSO said that during the same month, the average length of stay at these establishments was 6.5 nights.
