Last month, Liverpool talisman Steven Gerrard scored his 100th career goal in the Champions League 3-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven at Anfield.
Up to last weekend, his record tally for Liverpool stood at 103 goals following his netting earlier this month in the 2-0 Premier League victory away at Bolton.
Gerrard is a versatile and dynamic player who can command a regular place in any top team in world football. He is a great asset for the national team and considered a gentleman on and off the field.
His scoring feat is indeed significant, considering he is a midfielder. With Liverpool, he became the only player to score in the finals of the Champions League, UEFA Cup, FA Cup and League Cup.
Most of his goals, 74, have been scored during the reign of current Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez.
Also, Liverpool only finished on the losing end on eight occasions whenever Gerrard was among their scorers.
