Obituary

ZAMMIT PACE. On November 24, JOSEPHINE, widow of Joseph, passed away peacefully at her residence in Ħamrun, at the venerable age of 100, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her beloved children, Sr Rosemarie f.m.m., Sr Rita f.m.m., Dr Remigio and his wife Sina, Ruth, Ruby and her husband Dr Victor Bisazza, and Robert. She also leaves to mourn her sad loss her only brother Frank Pace, her grandchildren Rachaelle and her husband Herman Demicoli, Dr Roderick Zammit Pace and his wife Anabelle, Dr Roberta Bisazza, Daniela and her husband Steven Apap Bologna; also her great-grandchildren Francesca, Matthew, Rebecca, Alexander, other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated today at 2.30 p.m. at St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to charitable institutions would be appreciated. May she rest in peace.

A memorial service for DEREK HARRY ALDRED will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the Msida Bastion Garden of Rest, Floriana. Directions - left from the Excelsior Hotel, pass Floriana public library and 400m on right.

Old Edwardian Association

The Old Edwardian Association will be holding its annual general meeting and annual dinner at the college on December 5. The AGM starts at 7.30 p.m. followed by pre-dinner drinks at 8 p.m. Dinner will be served at 8.45 p.m. Dress: lounge. This event is only open to Old Edwardians and bookings are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Romanian electors

Romanian citizens over 18 can vote for the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate in Romania on Sunday at the Honorary Consulate of Romania at 60, South Street, Valletta between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Those voting have to present their Maltese identification card and the Romanian identification card or passport.

Eucharistic celebration

The Our Lady of Fatima Diocesan Committee will be holding a Eucharistic celebration at the Home for the Clergy, Anġlu Grima Street, Fleur-De-Lys, Birkirkara, on December 6, starting with Mass at 4 p.m.

Irish works

Award-winning Irish writer Damian Gorman will be reading to the public today at St James Cavalier, Valletta, at 8 p.m. One of the works he will be reading from is Devices of Detachment, which was broadcast in the UK and across the US.

Trenching works

Vodafone will tomorrow start trenching works along Triq Ħal Tarxien up to Dawret il-Gudja in Tarxien until further notice. Two-way traffic will not be impeded.

Donation by American wives

The American Wives Association last year collected €8,625.67 and donated them to charitable institutions and other philanthropic causes in Malta.

Christmas carols

Arleen J. Barlows' Vocal Studio will hold a concert of Christmas carols at St Paul's Anglican Cathedral, Valletta, on December 5 at 7.30 p.m.

Sacred music

The Maria Bambina Choral and Orchestral Society will be presenting a concert of sacred music at the Mellieħa parish church on Sunday at 6.30 p.m.

Chamber music

A concert of chamber music, featuring pianist Joanne Camilleri, violinist Volodymyr Baran, clarinettist Alison Hughes and cellist Ana Inge, will be held at St James Cavalier, Valletta, on Saturday at 8 p.m.

Prayers for the family

The Cana Movement will be holding prayers for the family at the Museum chapel, Blata l-Bajda, on December 11 at 7 p.m. Prayers will be followed by Mass and adoration.

Eczema Society

The Malta Eczema Society will be holding its annual general meeting at the Catholic Institute, Floriana, on Monday at 6.30 p.m.

US Embassy closed

The American Embassy will be closed to the public tomorrow to mark Thanksgiving Day. It will open again on Friday.

Christmas Bazaar

The International Wives Association will be holding a Christmas bazaar on December 26 from 10 a.m. onwards at Dar l-Emigrant, in Valletta.

Gozitan graduates

The Gozitan Graduates Movement will be holding Mass at St Augustine's church, Victoria, on December 5 at 8.30 p.m.
