The number of unemployed last month stood at 6,351, a drop of 308 over the same period last year, but an increase of 255 over September.

The National Statistics Office yesterday said unemployment in Malta fell by 323, but grew by 15 in Gozo in the 12-month period to October.

The main occupations sought by the unemployed were related to elementary duties and trades work for men and clerical or service-oriented jobs for women.
