A group of German senior citizens is to visit Malta in February after the Maltese embassy in Berlin held a Malta promotional evening for the Ecumenical Women’s Centre Eva’s Ark.
The evening was in line with activities to promote tourism to Malta, particularly during the lean months.
The committee members were served Kinnie and hobz biz-zejt as they were briefed about the Maltese islands their history, culture and attractions.
Ambassador John Paul Grech spoke on the advantages Malta offers as a short cultural retreat from the hectic schedules of cosmopolitan life and a relief from the hard winter temperatures typical of northern Europe. He also underscored the rich presence of Roman Catholic culture, which, together with the architectural legacy of the Knights of Malta, endow the Maltese historical and cultural landscape.
