Autopsy confirms diver drowned

An autopsy on British diver Paul Swain, who was brought up from the scuttled ship Xlendi last week, confirmed he had drowned, sources said.

Pathologists went ahead with the post-mortem examination after Mr Swain's body was identified by a family member last week, as laid down by law.

Mr Swain was last seen by a buddy entering a hatch leading into the former cafeteria of the boat - that once served as a Gozo Channel ferry - off Ix-Xatt l-Aħmar in Mġarr, Gozo on November 3.
