While offering my family's heartfelt condolences and symapthy to the Prime Minister, his famly and especially his father, we unite with the rest of our country to remember her in our prayers. Her death is a blessing from heaven to give this 'Lady' her well deserved eternal bliss in God's kingdom.

I am sure that I voice the sentiments of all migrants in offering deep condolences to Dr Gonzi and family.
Many of us have suffered the same loss but could not grieve with family because of the tyranny of distance.
It is therefore with a special and highly poignant sentiment that we join with our Maltese brothers and sisters of all persuasions in remembering Mrs Gonzi, and with her all the mothers who saw their children leave.
May God comfort the Gonzi family in this hour. May the death of this lady "a humble mother of the nation", which has evoked highly Christian sentiments from all quarters, serve to diminish divisions and enhance feeling of brotherhood amongst our people.

The Prime Minister and his endearing wife Kate have had a long day and a strenous one tomorrow, the Funeral of Lawrence and Michael`s mother...early this morning the Prime Minister and his wife were already parking a private car in Independence Square,in a chilly wet early morning, clad in black, to contribute to the overall preparations relating to the funeral.I had just returned from chilly and rainy London - dead tired, my heart shared the sorrows of the Prime Minister as I recalled the passing away of my Dad about five years ago- I still miss Dear Dad each second of every day and my solidarity go with The Prime Minister and his humble Family [ GIGI above all - Lawrence`s father and a Valletta neighbour ] as they have to face human Life in the full and unwelcome glare of publicity: to THE GONZI FAMILY, my humble sympathies and the comfort that the Spiritual Life is far less burdensome than our human Life, a Spiritual Life that all of us will one day partake of.To the grief-striken - REJOICE FOR LIFE HAS NOW TRULY BEGUN FOR THE PM`S MUM !

I have known Mrs. Gonzi for a large number of years. She was our neighbour in Valletta. She was always the fountain of Christian fortitude and quiet determination who silently and quietly gave her all for her family and, in her own way, to her country. Her quiet character symbolised a depth of character in which her husband and children and, I have no doubt, her grandchildren always found refuge in. I will always have fond memories of Mrs. Gonzi and I can only imagine what the Gonzi family is going through at this moment of great personal loss. Her quiet and humble character humbled all who knew her. I would like to show my heartfelt and deepest condolences to all the Gonzi family but especially to her dear husband, Gigi May God grant her eternal rest.

A Christian fully believes that death is not the end, but the beginning of a new life immersed in the peace and eternal love of God. This is why early Christians referred to the day of death as the "dies natalis" - the birthday of the Christian into heaven. Inez must already be praying for us, but it is also our duty to pray for her. My sincere sympathy to Gigi, to the Prime Minister, and to his brother and two sisters and all the family. My prayers for all our dear departed.
