December 12 is the closing date for the receipt of applications for the exchange of lecturers or researchers during 2009 supported through the Italo-Maltese Cultural Agreement.

To be eligible to apply for funding under this agreement the lecturers/researchers must be full-time academic members of staff or researchers at the University, the Junior College or the Italian institution concerned (ricercatori confermati).

The Italo-Maltese Executive Programme for Cultural Co-operation provides for the award of a per diem allowance to promote the exchange of up to 10 Italian academics and 10 University/ Junior College academic members of staff or researchers per year. Italian academics receive a per diem of €81.52 per night while Maltese counterparts are awarded €93 per night.

The duration of the visits that can be supported under this agreement may not be less than five days or longer than 10 days. The application should contain a covering letter specifying among other matters, the proposed dates of departure and arrival and the number of nights spent abroad.
