Hamrun Spartans celebrated their first win in this year's Premier League with a 3-2 victory over Qormi at home this afternoon.
Qormi opened the scoring three minutes into the second half thanks to a Josivan de Silva effort but Hamrun were in the lead by the sixtieth minute thanks to goals by Cucciardi and Kokavassis. Massimo Grima brought Qormi back into the match on the 67th minute but Cucciardi scored his second to seal it for Hamrun with a minute to go.
Chucks Nwoko was sent off for Qormi in injury time.
Earlier, Msida and Marsaxlokk featured in a 1-1 draw in a match whose main feature was the sending off of three players.
The goals came from Andre Rocha da Silva for Msida in the 57th minute and Julio Alcorse from a penalty which equalised for Marsaxlokk in the 70th minute.
Msida's Tyrone Farrugia paid the price for the penalty, being shown the red card.
Also sent to an early shower were Brian Said and Stephen Wellman for Marsaxlokk after receiving two yellow cards.
