Slovakia National Day was recently celebrated at Casino Maltese, Valletta, with a violin and piano recital followed by a reception.

Playing in front of a packed hall, the evening belonged to a talented 14-year-old violinist, Karol Danis.

During the official part of the evening, President Eddie Fenech Adami and Slovakia deputy Prime Minister Dusan Caplovic gave speeches, followed by reciprocal toasts.

Later, national anthems of Slovakia and Malta were played. Among distinguished guests were Deputy Prime Minister Tonio Borg, President Emeritus Guido de Marco, President Emeritus Ugo Mifsud Bonnici, ambassadors and honorary consuls.

Slovak Ambassador Stanislav Vallo was also present, together with Slovak Deputy Prime Minister Dusan Caplovic.
