New Zealand centre Ma'a Nonu scored 10 minutes into the second half to put the All Blacks on course for a 29-9 victory over Six Nations champions Wales at the Millennium Stadium yesterday.

Blindslide flanker Jerome Kaino scored a second try in the final minutes while flyhalf Dan Carter kicked 19 points.

New Zealand need to beat England at Twickenham next weekend to record their third grand slam of victories over the four home nations.

Three penalties to Stephen Jones to two by Carter gave Wales a 9-6 lead at half-time.

Carter levelled immediately after the interval and Nonu then scored his second try in successive internationals, running on to hooker Keven Mealamu's pass after Carter had spun the ball right.

World champions South Africa dealt a hapless England their worst defeat at Twickenham with a crushing 42-6 victory in a lopsided rematch of last year's World Cup final.

The Springboks, who had already beaten Wales and Scotland, made pre-match suggestions that they were too tired look laughable with a performance of classy opportunism in attack and dogged determination in defence.

Tries by Danie Rossouw, Ruan Pienaar, Adie Jacobs, Jaque Fourie and Bryan Habana and assured goalkicking by Pienaar after the break completed a hugely satisfying European tour with South Africa's sixth win in a row against England.

"It was a brutal lesson," England coach Martin Johnson told Sky Sports News. "We created a lot of opportunities but the execution was poor."

Springbok captain John Smit said: "We signed off in style. I asked a lot from the guys this week but they gave me more."

Other results: Ireland vs Argentina 17-3; Italy vs Pacific Islanders 17-25; Scotland vs Canada 41-0; France vs Australia 18-13.
