The biggest cruise liner ever built in Germany, the Celebrity Solstice, flying a Maltese flag, has just been handed over to its owners, Celebrity Cruises. Being 317.2 metres long and 36.8 metres wide, the luxury liner has successfully completed its technical and nautical trials. The ship accommodates 2,850 passengers in 1,425 cabins.

Present at the event were Marc Portelli, Malta Maritime Authority chairman, and Lino Vassallo, International Maritime Organisation executive director and permanent representative for Malta.
