The Sunday Times columnist wins natural heritage award

The Sunday Times columnist Alan Deidun was awarded the Prix D'Honneur for Natural Heritage Journalism by Din l-Art Ħelwa.

Dr Deidun was recognised for his commitment to campaigning in favour of the environment and, more specifically, for his article Creatures of the Deep that deals with the plight of turtles in the Mediterranean.

The Prix D'Honneur for Built Heritage Journalism was given to Alberto Miceli Farrugia and John Borg Barthet for their series of articles in the Chamber of Architects' publication The Urban Challenge. This publication also won the overall best award of the silver medal trophy.

A special diploma was awarded to Lino Bugeja for his series of articles on Vittoriosa's maritime heritage.
