Dutch group leads bids for Enemalta Petroleum Division

BB Energy BV has been named the first ranking bidder for the commercialisation of the operation, maintenance and development of Enemalta’s Petroleum Division and the business activities undertaken by Mediterranean Offshore Bunkering Company Limited (MOBC).

Following Cabinet’s authorisation, the Ministry of Finance informed the Privatisation Unit that the government had accepted the recommendations of the adjudicating committee.

The committee recommended that BB Energy BV be named first ranking bidder. Accordingly, BB Energy BV has been invited to attend a meeting with a view to commence negotiations.

BB Energy BV is registered in the Netherlands and is owned by the Bassatne Group which was established in 1963. The Group’s main operational focus is oil trading, storage and distribution largely in the Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean Region.
