Camilleri Wines has announced two new additions to its flagship Palatino range of locally grown wines. The Palatino Viognier and Palatino Cabernet Franc, both being launched as a limited release, bring the total number of different varieties in the Palatino range to nine. Although the 2008 vintage will see Viognier and Cabernet Franc bottled as limited release inside the Palatino range, the winery is keeping its options open with the type of varieties that may be found in the limited release range in the future.

During vintage 2007, the current release, Camilleri Wines produced a total of 10,700 bottles of Palatino Viognier and 6,800 bottles of Palatino Cabernet Franc. The Palatino Viognier marks another first for Camilleri Wines effectively making the winery the first one in Malta to market a locally grown Viognier.

"These new additions to our Palatino range make us proud because we keep seeing this brand growing and becoming stronger and more successful in a very competitive market," said Claudio Camilleri, head of sales and marketing at Camilleri Wines.

"In the meantime 2007 has given us an amazing Cabernet Franc and we are expecting 2008 to be just as great. Even though this wine has just been launched the immediate feedback indicates that this wine will go places and we look forward to seeing our clients propose it on their wine lists.
