Police probe Spanish boat over illegal fishing

A Spanish fishing boat was intercepted by the Armed Forces of Malta on Monday while allegedly fishing illegally. The fishing boat was sighted by a patrol boat some 22 miles south-south-east of Malta.
After instructing the fishermen to haul aboard their prawn fishing traps, the boat was escorted to Grand Harbour, the AFM said. Once berthed, the boat was handed over to the fisheries' authorities and the police for further investigation.

All the catch on board should be confiscated and sold in favour of the Government since no fish/shrimp has a tag showing where it was caught and the boat was caught fishing ILLEGALLY in Maltese waters.
Why should the master's word be believed because he puts in his log where they were caught?
As if he couldn't just put anything he wants!
When Australians caught foreign boats fishing in Australian waters they not only confiscated the catch, but destroyed the boats to penalize the fishermen.
