Skylife, Air Malta's in-flight magazine, published two easily detected anachronisms in its September issue (page 64) citing September 8, 1656 instead of 1565 leading to another grossly inaccurate excerpt from the Great Siege's triumphant finale "...when the Ottoman forces besieging Valletta conceded defeat and left the Islands".
It is elementary knowledge that Valletta was born after the lifting of the Siege. Grand Master Jean Parisot de Valette, who gave it his name, decided to build a new city on the other side of Birgu, the victorious city which bears the merited title of Vittoriosa.
Ironically these entanglements recalling Malta's history are listed under "Dates to Remember"!
