Unesco Club anniversary

President Emeritus Guido de Marco gave a talk to members of the Unesco Club (Malta) at St Joseph Institute, Sta Venera, in the first of a series of activities which the club is organising to mark its 40th anniversary. Prof. de Marco who was introduced by the chairman Albert Rutter spoke about his upbringing and education, and the events and personalities that influenced his life. He touched on highlights of his career as a lawyer and a politician, underlining his role, as Foreign Minister, in Malta's quest to join the European Union, his Presidency of the United Nations Organisation in 1989-90, and his term as President from 1999 to 2004.
