Recently I attended a seminar called ESF80 Training in Hospitality Trades for Disadvantaged Persons and Persons with Learning Difficulties.

This seminar was about empowering and encouraging children with learning difficulties to utilise newly learnt skills. It was run by the ITS with help from the EU.

This seminar was aimed at parents of children with learning difficulties and those who attended were inundated with lots of information and encouragement.

For all the trouble the organisers went through I would have expected a lot more people to attend.

The seminar was rounded off with a short DVD of a success story of a young lady who has successfully obtained a job at the Radisson Golden Sands Hotel - something which is indeed very heartening to the organisers as well as the parents and of course the disadvantaged students.

Many congratulations to all involved in this wonderful project and to the employers who are willing to take on board these young people with learning difficulties.
