Police Superintendent Raymond Zammit has filed an application asking a court to issue a warrant of prohibitory injunction to stop promotions to assistant commissioner of police.

Supt Zammit in his application said the process was vitiated.

The application was filed against the Minister of Home Affairs and the Commissioner of Police.

Supt. Zammit said the selection process was vitiated because be was not given the points he deserved, particularly for job related knowledge and seniority. As a consequence he was placed sixth in ranking order when five assistant commissioners were to be appointed. He said he should have been second or third.

Dr Anglu Farrugia signed the application.
