Clinical pharmacy conference

Maurice Zarb Adami, Francesca Wirth, Kirsten Buhagiar, Lilian Azzopardi and Anthony Serracino-Inglott from the University's Department of Pharmacy took part in the European Society of Clinical Pharmacy annual conference held last month in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Dr Zarb Adami opened the plenary session with a presentation entitled 'The balancing act and therapeutic costs'.

Prof. Azzopardi, Prof. Serracino-Inglott, Ms Buhagiar, and Ms Wirth, together with Prof. Philip Schneider from the University of Arizona, US, ran a very well attended workshop entitled 'Clinical testing at the point of care'. In separate sessions, Ms Buhagiar and Ms Wirth presented papers on 'Anticoagulation therapy monitoring' and 'Clinical pharmacy services at a rehabilitation elderly hospital'. Prof. Serracino-Inglott was also the chairman of the scientific committee of the congress.
