A collective exhibition of cartoons on the theme 'For Diversity and Against Discrimination' (FDAD) is on display at the Atrium, St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity, Valletta.

The exhibition was inaugurated by EC Representation Office head Joanna Drake with FDAD national correspondent Anthony Tabone and Carmen Sammut, man of FDAD cartoons competition selection panel.

Twenty-two works by promising young and established Maltese cartoonists were submitted in the competition held as part of the FDAD campaign.

Showcasing in a positive manner the issues of race, sexual orientation, age, religion, and disability, the drawings create awareness on the diversity issue.

Sammut, publisher Michael Schiavone and Tabone assessed the submissions and selected two winners.

Veteran artist Maurice Tanti Burlo' was awarded first prize with Stairway to heaven, while second prize was awarded to Marisa Attard for Peas in a Pod. A special mention went to three participants - Greta Borg-Carbott, Marie Claire Farrugia, and Louiselle Sciberras.

The exhibition will remain open until Wednesday.
