I recently appealed to the authorities to take action to save the historical Tal-Wejter tower and the niche at the former Infetti cemetery, in Birkirkara, from collapse.

It has now come to my attention that for some unknown reason another historic tower, this time in Old Railway Road, just within the limits of Birkirkara and St Venera, is being demolished. I do not know what has led to this decision or whether this has been authorised officially. I appeal to whoever is responsible to safeguard this historical building.
