On reading John Guillaumier's letter (The Sunday Times, November 2), I felt pity for him.

He must truly be suffering, to have taken this attitude towards life, death, religion and God.

I will pray for him to be relieved of his suffering and ask anyone who has read his letter to do the same. There is very little one can say to comfort or convince a person who seems to have lost all faith, so I will just give one thought for him and anyone who feels like him to consider. It would be better to live a good Christian life, believing in God, heaven and the afterlife, eventually dying like everyone else and find nothing, than to live a bad and desperate life believing in nothing - then die and find yourself face to face with God for judgment.
