Mail delivery
We would like to assure Doris Cusens (The Sunday Times, November 2) and all clients that Malta Post operates on what is known as a J+1 basis with both local and incoming foreign mail. This means that all mail is delivered on the following day.
Reference can also be made to the documents 'MaltaPost plc's universal service obligations - accessibility, daily delivery, provision of information decision notice and response to consultation paper' and 'Quality of service (QOS) targets to be achieved by MaltaPost plc - Decision notice and response to consultation' published on September 10 and December 6, 2007, by the Malta Communications Authority. These documents can also be found on the MCA's website www.mca.org.mt. The targets have been consistently exceeded.
Should your correspondent experience any further mail delays, she may contact Maltapost's Customer Care Department on 2596 1800 or e-mail info@maltapost.com.

@ D Gatt
I have your same problem. I bought two items from UK and they were posted in two separate parcels on the same day. The problem is only one reached me. And the other parcel?????

Would Maltapost please explain why in the past 4 weeks 5 parcels have been posted to me from UK from the same place but only 2 made it to my home? Odd - as when I lived in UK I'ce never had a lost parcel!

Antoinette Camilleri
Previously when the Post was a Government entity letters were delivered on the SAME day.
So we have gone BACKWARDS with privatization Ms Camilleri.

Simply to cheer you up, Antoinette (PA to CEO, Maltapost plc).
Over the past 20 years I have used MaltaPost and the Royal Mail (UK) in conjunction. Even though I am a grumpy old man (57yrs. old), I may honestly say that I have never had any reason to complain regarding the service provided.
For example, on Saturday 25th October '08, I posted a letter to Munxar, Gozo from a backwater (East Yorkshire) in the UK. This letter was received on 30th October in Munxar. The content of that letter prompted the despatch of a painting via MaltaPost which I received undamaged on the 4th November '08.
Now, I think that's pretty good, don't you?
Richard Scrowston.
