Grand Harbour Marina to generate yachting industry

A historic sailing venue and a well-known stop-over in the heart of the Mediterranean, Malta is becoming a favourite yacht destination. Camper and Nicholsons' Grand Harbour Marina is sheltered in deep waters and Malta Superyacht Services is located in the creek next to it within the Grand Harbour.

Malta Super Yacht Services provides enclosed dry-docking and every aspect of refit and repair work for steel, GRP and wood, with engineering, electrical and hydraulic specialists.

Ben Stuart, the marina's general manager, said, "In today's climate the marina provides owners, management, captains and crew with an attractive and cost-effective location to berth yachts in winter and summer."

Over the past few years, the marina has welcomed over 400 visiting yachts and added its operating berthing space. Commenting about the imminent privatisation of some of the government marinas, Mr Stuart is enthusiastic, believing that this is an essential component if the industry is to retain its freshness. "Camper and Nicholsons was present in the early days of yachting in Malta and firmly believes in Malta's potential in the yachting industry."
