Opposition education spokesman Evarist Bartolo this morning accused the Prime Minister and the Education Minister of having been dishonest, incorrect and unjust in their criticism towards him on MCAST.
At the college, 600 young people have not yet started their ICT courses, but Mr Bartolo insisted this was not his fault because all he had done was bring to the attention of the police the fact that serious abuses had taken place in the choice of training centres for the courses.
The investigation being carried out by the police had nothing to do with the tender award, he said. This tender was held up because one of the companies appealed the award as was its right.
In other parts of his speech Mr Bartolo welcomed the possibility of a merger between the Eden Foundation and the Razzett tal-Ħbiberija and hoped this would be assisted both by the state and the church.
Mr Bartolo said that the government should support objectives, financing particular projects rather than organisations.
