Malta, Ireland in double taxation agreement

Ambassadors Walter Balzan and Sean O'Huiginn yesterday signed a convention between Malta and Ireland for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income.

The purpose of the double taxation convention, which is to avoid double taxation and prevent fiscal evasion, is expected to have a positive impact by stimulating further investment and generating more commercial activities between Malta and Ireland.

Malta and Ireland will now ratify this convention before the end of the year so it will come into force at the beginning of next year.
