Wembley Stadium remains fully operational despite reports that a storm had caused structural damage earlier this week, stadium officials said.

British media reported that a four-storey high crack had appeared in the national stadium, causing a large part of the building to be sealed off, after a storm late on Monday.

"There was some minor movement in the building on Monday morning," an official was quoted as saying by British media. "Our engineers have reviewed the situation and reports indicate that this has been caused by natural settling.

"As with all large structures, the stadium has been designed with movement tolerance factored in. Reports suggesting that there is a crack in the stadium as a result of this movement are incorrect.

"It's business as usual and the stadium remains fully operational."
