National Karate Championships

The ninth National Karate Kata Championships, organised by the Malta Karate Federation (MKF) and sponsored by Nestle Fitness, were held earlier this month at the Cottonera Sports Complex. The event attracted 125 participants from all the seven clubs affiliated with the MKF, namely those in Birkirkara, Fgura, Mġarr, Mtarfa, Naxxar, Paola and Pembroke. MKF president Kenneth Abela expressed his satisfaction at the successful organisation of the national championships and the level of karate shown by the competitors in the different categories.
