Obituary

BRINCAT. On November 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, JADE of Paola, aged 21, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her mother Shirley, her father Jesmond, her sisters Yana and Ruby, their fiancées, grandparents, uncles and aunts, cousins, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Christ the King parish church, Paola, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GATT. On November 11, at Mater Dei Hospital, CHARLES, aged 73, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Odette, née Pace, his children Loredana and her husband Salvatore Portincasa, Massimiliano and his wife Zena, Fabrizio and his wife Marvic, his two grandsons Peter and Federico, his sister Mary and his brother Paul and his wife Michelle, his sisters-in-law Iris and Lydia, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8 a.m. for Our Lady of Lourdes parish church, San Ġwann, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment in the family vault at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PISANI. On November 13, at her residence, MARY of Valletta, aged 99, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Silvio, Marlene, Angele, Lawrence and his wife Elizabeth and Albert and his wife Giorgina, her grandchildren Julie, Sandra, Bernard, Mario and his wife Svetlana and Jean Paul and his wife Claire, her great-grandson Aidan, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2 p.m. for St Francis church, Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

ZERAFA. On November 13, at her residence in Birkirkara, MARLENE née Brincat, aged 64, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband Paul, her sons Mark and his wife Lourdes, Adrian and his wife Connie Francis, her sisters Dorothy and Antoinette and her brother Charlie and their families, her brother-in-law Alfred, her sister-in-law Josephine and their families, her nephew Luke and her niece Adela, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for St Helen's Basilica, Birkirkara, where a Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.

Music awards pre-party

Tattingers will be hosting this year's Malta Music Awards pre-party tonight. Singers, bands and judges will all be there to rub shoulders with: names like Winter Moods, Ira Losco, J-Joy, Scream Daisy, Airport, Chasing Pandora and Niki Gravino.

Moreover, the first 100 visitors will be receiving a complimentary tickets to the awards night, being staged at the MFCC in Ta' Qali on November 29.

University concert

The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will perform popular classical pieces celebrating the University of Malta's Foundation Day on November 28.

Starting at 8 p.m., the orchestra will perform a one-hour programme, directed by Michael Laus. The concert will take place in the Republic Hall of the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta.

Talk on climate change

Alan Deidun will be giving a talk on the impact of climate change on marine living resources at Din l-Art Ħelwa's offices at 133, Melita Street, Valletta today at 6 p.m.

Concert of sacred music

The Journey Choir will be singing a concert of sacred music at the St Augustine parish church, Valletta tomorrow at 8 p.m.
