Local enforcement now in all councils

Local law enforcement has spread to all local councils after Marsa joined the system.

The government said Marsa, Gudja and Birżebbuga have been granted the power to locally enforce laws through the wardens.

While this is the first time for Marsa, Gudja and Birżebbuga are being granted this power anew following a period of enforcement under their respective Joint Committees.

After months of discussion, these councils had "understood the importance of participating in the law enforcement system," the government said.

Traffic discipline needs to be brought quickly to Birzebbuga . This village has always been the forgotten area as far back as I can remember . Our roads are still only good for off roading ie St Patrick Street, Pretty Bay ,St Angelo Street and a large part of Ttriq il Port Hieles .As for parking one cannot describe the anachy that is . So much yellow paint has been wasted over the years and every few steps one can see the traffic laws being broken by stationary or moving vehicles at anytime of day or night . I know the police have other jobs to do but surely a walk around the village in the absence of wardens would bring some order to the lawlessness all over Birzebbuga .
