Blasted makes a hit

The brutality of conflict... Jo Caruana and Bryan Jennings in Blasted. Photo: Darrin Zammit Lupi

Sarah Kane's disturbing play Blasted has been extended by popular demand, after Unifaun Theatre Productions packed the theatre of St James Cavalier, Valletta, for two weekends running.

The play is a disquieting portrayal of life when society and order disintegrate. Poignant and sometimes comical, Blasted is a mirror for the horrors and crimes of war, and the brutality of conflict, even that between a woman and a man.

Directed by Californian Dave Barton, whose work has been reviewed and praised in the Los Angeles Times, the cast includes Bryan Jennings, a Californian actor, Jo Caruana and Andrew Galea.

Blasted will be running for another three nights at 7.30 p.m., starting tomorrow. Tickets can be reserved from St James Cavalier's box office on 2122 3216 or via e-mail boxoffice@sjcav.org.

Great to see Leeds Utd represented in Malta - mid/late 90's shirt worn by Jo in the picture.

Come on fellow Leeds fans, let's get Man Utd relegated to 2nd most English supported team in Malta! (I'm not holding my breath...)
