The Governor-General of Australia, Quentin Bryce, has started an official visit to Malta.

She was given a ceremonial welcome at the Palace Square, Valletta, this morning before having talks with President Eddie Fenech Adami.

She also laid a wreath at the War Memorial and is to meet Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and Opposition leader Joseph Muscat.
