Two workmen were injured yesterday when part of the façade they were working on collapsed.

The two men, a 33-year-old from Sliema and a 17-year-old from Swieqi, were on the construction site in Triq Dun Karm Psaila, Żebbuġ when the stone blocks fell on them. The reason for the collapse has still to be established.

The police said the 17-year-old was grievously injured and broke a number of bones.

The condition of the 33-year-old was still to be established but he seemed to have fared better.
