Disney characters coming to Malta in January
Favourite Disney characters and professional magicians are coming together live on stage in a performance set to hit Malta in January.
The show, to be held at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre in Ta Qali, is Disney Live! presents Mickey’s Magic Show.
It will take parents and children on an inspirational journey with popular Disney characters, where they learn to find the magic within and all around them.
The show will also feature legendary Disney films, including Cinderella, Aladdin and Fantasia. Mickey Mouse, the master magician himself, will perform illusions along with Cinderella’s fairy godmother, Alice in Wonderland’s mad hatter and professional magicians Brad Ross and Fred Moore.
Seven shows will be held between January 22 and 25.
Tickets, starting from €25, will go on sale on Sunday. They will be available from www.disneylivemalta.com and a number of outlets.

I've already booked to take my two kids, aged 3 & 4 to watch Barney! I, together with my husband, decided that that would be their xmas present from us, since at the time being, the majority of our income is being spent in finishing our first house! But all I could think of was the 2 big smiles my kids put on when they will actually see them live! I also got excited myself, cos I've never imagined that my kids would get this chance. Saying this, I hope that we will see them clearly, since we could only afford the EUR20 tickets, EUR80 total.
I couldn't believe it when I got to know that the disney characters where also coming in the same period...and just as the barney tickets went sold out, ironically! For those who are in my position, I'm sure you understand! It would be so great if only I could afford to take them to see this also, but I, like Paul Savona would have to either wait for another opportunity to come at a different time, or push my luck to go to Disney world some time later on!

@Paul Savona
I read your article and was curious.
I went to MFCC to watch Bocelli and was about 30 metres behind what is marked at Euro 25 section. I was one of 9,000 spectators. I can assure you that i didn't need binoculars.
If you prefer taking your family 3 times to the cinema rather than watching this show I surely cannot share your same point of view.
When you find tickets for a Disney show at Euro 95 including admission, please let me know - As things stand today you hardly arrive at the airport at the same price because that amount would be charged for Taxes and Fuel Supplement .
Open your mind. We don't need people like yourself to share an opinion. In a few weeks time you will surely regret not having taken your kids to watch the most loving characters PERFORM LIVE in front of your eyes a corner away from home.

OK, €25 I would say is very very affordable. It is like going to the cinema 3 times. So considering that it is a live professional performance I would say it is fair.
However.......did you see where the €25 seating actually is. Go to the website and check it out. You will need binoculars and to crank your neck to view the stage. So much so that you will only get a side profile of the characters. It is cheap, affordable, but very, very bad seats. Hardly worth going.
The next price up is €40.....better but not a lot in terms of view. if you want a decent view you will have to pay upwards of €55.
Most expensive seats €95 front, centre stage. If you can afford it your kids will love you more!! I for one will save my money for a family holiday to Disney where shows like this are included in the price of the entrance.

I would like to leave a comment here - I do dream of taking my two kids to The Wiggles in Australia, Barney in the US......and it would VERY expensive (flights, accommodation, transport, souvenirs....). So I think this is a golden opportunity for us as we just don't need to go out of our way to take our kids to such a show, which is not that often in Malta!
And yes, something has to give in life - in life we must choose. I can't take them to every show on the island myself. Just looking at this objectively.

Welcome to your adopted Island home Mickey,
Your name has become synonymous with our Islands ways of doing things!

Dear Natasha, I think you do not have a family because if you are a family consisting of 4 people you might not afford to pay 100 euros or more since 25 euros is the starting price, probably at the very back of the centre, therefore to see properly and book a seat closer to the stage you would have to pay much more. I am a person who loves shows and encourages shows of this kind but for heavens's sake let us be reasonable with prices. We are in Malta on Maltese salaries. I have already booked to take my kids to see High School Muscial and although I would love to see this show something has to give. Yes please encourage our families to take their kids to these kind of shows but regulate the prices.

Totally unaffordable! But how can you refuse it to our kids.. 1st we had Barney and I forked out € 60 per head and now this. Its fun for the kids yes but not for my pocket. These are international prices and does not reflect the poor wages that we have in Malta.

If it's a professional show, 25 euros is a pretty small amount to pay...

Google search and here you can find the price of a
"1-Day / 2 Parks Hopper ticket: £38 / £33" @ eurodisney park
were you will manage to meet all the characters and taking pictures with!!
But I am sure it will be worh the price one pays...(if never been to eurodisney)

Too much for a family of four. 100 euros for a show is too high.

An overdose (no pun intended) of children entertainment is finally hitting the island. No I am not complaining, being a mother of two toddlers, however with tickets selling at € 75 down to € 20 for one particular show and this from age 2, and now this show with ticket prices starting from € 25 (probably going up to € 80 - proportionally) don't you think that prices are getting a bit out of reach, considering that most probably a family is made up of 4 or more persons !? Ah yes, Mickey Mouse. Reminds of that song "Konna, ghadna w nibqghu pajjiz tal Mickey Mouse"
