Lino Farrugia Sacco is expected to be confirmed as president of the Maltese Olympic Committee for another four-year term at this evening's elections for MOC's Executive Committee.
Mr Justice Farrugia Sacco, whose involvement within the local Olympic movement stretches back to 1987, is uncontested for the top post as are five candidates for other key positions on the MOC's top forum.
Julian Pace Bonello (vice-president), Joe Cassar (general secretary), Pippo Psaila (director of sport), David Azzopardi (director of finance) and Charles Camenzuli (director of media) are unchallenged for their respective posts.
Kyrill Micallef Stafrace, the current incumbent, and Vince Scicluna are bidding for the role of MOC director of marketing and sponsorship. Both Micallef Stafrace and Scicluna have also filed their candidature for one of the remaining six vacancies on the MOC Executive.
The other nominees are Envic Galea, Anthony Chircop, Mark Cutajar, Laurie Pace, Lucienne Attard, Adele Muscat and Marthese Caruana.
Two representatives from each association/federation affiliated with the MOC are eligible to vote. The MOC have called a news conference tomorrow to announce the outcome of today's election.
