The MADC Christmas Panto: ‘Bigger! Magical! and Affordable'!

This year's MADC panto will be telling the story of ‘The Remarkable Voyage of Sinbad- the Tailor'.

The story of Sinbad's (Steffan Cheriet Busuttil) perilous journey to thwart Nefferaria's (Isabel Warrington) evil plan to take over the world is written by Alan Montanaro who will be returning to panto as the outrageous and gutsy Dame Zeza.

"Zeza was the first dame I played around 15 years ago in Sinbad the Tailor - around 15 years ago - so the story is very close to my heart", explained Alan Montanaro. "And I'm thrilled that Zeza's back with a vengeance - she's an outrageous but loveable character and her appeal, I believe, lies in the fact that there is a little Zeza living iside each and every one of us. If there isn't... then there should be. She's great!

Alan Monatanaro is a well-known name associated with the MADC panto who over the years has played to packed houses and left his audience holding their sides with laughter and screaming for more after his performances.

An array of interesting characters awaits this year's audience all concocted by Mr Montanaro who said that the secret behind his comedic script is his personal mantra: "If I find something humorous or amusing, I simply assume that audiences will find it funny too."

This year the MADC panto cast is performing Alan's hilarious script at the MFCC in Ta' Qali.

"The new venue opens a myriad of opportunities and possibilities. There are no restrictions at the MFCC which means that a flying carpet can do a lot more than merely go up and down as it had to do in past. We can now finally re-introduce pyrotechnics. A bigger stage means that the cast is no longer cramped into corners, and a specifically designed stage lay-out means the audience are more involved than ever. The kids are going to love it!" he said.

‘Ta' Qali is central to all localities. Unlike Valletta parking is not a problem, and they will be able to enjoy a number of surprises," Alan continued.

Ticket details are available on the MADC ticket hotline on 7979 6232, between 9am and 7pm or by going on the MADC website www.madc.biz.

The MADC panto will be shown from the December 19 December, 23, December 26 to December 30 and January 2-4.
