Maria Fenech, 23 of Sliema was today conditionally discharged for two years after she admitted to a court that she withdrew around €2,000 from her boyfriend's bank account using his CashLink card without his knowledge.

The two had broken up but are now together again.

In another case, Stevanovic Srdjan, 26 from Serbia, pleaded guilty to having produced a false document during criminal proceedings against him.

Mr Srdjan, who was eventually imprisoned, had given a false name to the court and backed it up with false documents.

The court today sentenced him for a further one year in jail suspended for two years. He is to be deported upon the end of his first prison term this Saturday.
