Car registration tax
The registration tax on cars with engines between 1,000cc and 2,500cc will be cut by between five and 44 per cent following the new measures announced in the budget.
It is not the price of the vehicle that will drop percentage-wise, as erroneously reported by The Times on Friday.
The cut refers to the registration tax paid. The error is regretted.

Your argument is skewed, because the law does neither require you to buy a boat, but once you buy it you no longer pay the radio licence.

"Isn't it like the licence payment for VHF radios for seacraft which had to be done away with because seacraft owners were required by law to have the equipment?"
Not much because the law does not require you to buy a car. However the public transport does!

Isn't it absurd that you have to pay a tax to register your vehicle when you are obliged by law to register it?
Isn't it like the licence payment for VHF radios for seacraft which had to be done away with because seacraft owners were required by law to have the equipment?
So why not do away with the registration tax?
Oh, but then the Gonzipn Government wouldn't be able to balance its budget as ordered by the eu petty dictators would it?
