The Broadcasting Authority said today that it has ended a moratorium on the licensing of community radio stations and will receive applications for long-term licences from not-for-profit NGOs from today.

The authority said the decision was taken following discussions with the Malta Communications Authority. The call for applications closes on November 28.

A spokesman for the Authority said the decision had been taken to issue a new call for applications after a review of the technical and content conditions.
