Four age-group records were set during yesterday afternoon's time-trials, the second of this new season at the National Pool in Tal-Qroqq.

Pride of place went to15-year-old Mark Sammut who was in remarkable form.

The IASIS swimmer, who is also in the national squad, is fast making a name for himself as a prolific record-breaker. He established new Group 'C' marks in three events.

These were the 200m freestyle - 2.07.05. The previous record was held by Kenny D'ugo since November 1996. He then broke the 50 free - 26.17seconds, beating his own mark of 26.63 set in April this year, and the 50 fly - 28.32 seconds, 12 hundredths of a second inside the five-year-old mark held by Kyle Scerri.

The other record of one minute 09.34 seconds, this time in Group B, went to Matthew Zammit who smashed the 10-year-old limit of 1:12.23 held by Kenny D'Ugo.
