Kavallieri win Ray Elliott Cup

The Malta Rugby Football Union season kicked off yesterday at the Marsa Sports Ground with the Ray Elliott Cup and the first matches from the qualifying round of the Cisk Lager National League. In the Ray Elliott Cup, the traditional season curtain-raiser that pits against each other the winners of the national league and the cup, champions Kavallieri beat Stompers 22-17. In the national league, Valletta Lions had a tough debut when they lost to Overseas 50-0 while Alligators beat Sharks 18-12.
