Commuters checked for World Diabetes Day
The Malta Medical Students Association yesterday marked World Diabetes Day with a half day activity at City Gate in Valletta.
Volunteers distributed leaflets and chatted with passers-by about the problem of diabetes. The public also had the option of checking their Body Mass Index, blood glucose and blood pressure.
Since there is a high prevalence of diabetes in Malta, the association underlined the importance of preventing the disease through primary care.
