Working in Valletta six days a week, I am a frequent user of the Park and Ride system. One cannot deny it is an extremely efficient service not only for people going to Valletta regularly, but it has also proved to be beneficial for those who had long given up going to Valletta because of the lack of parking space. Coupled with this, the service is provided free of charge, making it even more attractive to the public.

The service has also improved over the past few months with the introduction of two new routes in the lower part of Valletta, offering a hail and ride service.

The minibuses used are also equipped with air-conditioning systems and the drivers, who, are polite and friendly, also keep their minibuses clean at all times.

The only downside of the service that comes to mind is that there is a shortage of shelters for passengers and minibuses, making it a bit uncomfortable for passengers and drivers alike in extreme temperature conditions. Although, having said this, one cannot deny that waiting times are almost insignificant.

Unfortunately, even though the car park in Floriana can accommodate a considerable number of cars, during peak hours one doesn't always manage to find a parking slot.

Consequently my advice to those who are unhappy with the service is rather than waste precious time criticising it with futile and baseless arguments, just make space for others.
