Promoting transparency in the security industry

Model to be tested in Malta

MQC chief executive James Calleja led a Maltese delegation which participated in the final partners meeting of the Leonardo da Vinci pilot project 'Empowerment of transparency in vocational framework of security employees' (ETSE). The meeting was held recently in Vilnius, Lithuania. The two-year project focused on promoting transparency of qualifications and the quality of services offered in the private security sector.

During the meeting, there was an explanation of the updated 'Competency Assessment Model' which has been uploaded on the project website www.private-security.org. The model will be pilot-tested in security companies in all Lithuania, Germany and Malta. The possibility of a new project proposal to continue work on the products developed in ETSE was also brought up during the meeting.

Besides MQC, the other project partners were the Lithuanian association 'Apsaugos versio grupe', the Lithuanian Labour Market Training Authority and Knowledge Transfer Institute, and two German firms, VS Security Triebel, Schwarzenberg, and ASCOTA-IT GmbH from Chemnitz.
