Children, nature get up close and personal

Tree hugging at Buskett.

During the last weekend of October, Ċentru Tbexbix, Cospicua, organised a residential weekend for children at the YTC bungalow in Buskett. The programme included a wide range of activities to help the children interact, build bridges and reduce social division between themselves.

Outdoor activities including running among the trees in leafy Buskett and a visit to explore and hear a historical account about Għar il-Kbir. The children ate healthy vegetarian food, sang, danced and put up spirited performances of original choreography, and engaged in papier mache classes that allowed them to express their innate creativity.

Back at Ċentru Tbexbix, as usual, half of the first class following the residential weekend was spent evaluating the event, and it was very inspiring to hear their positive feedback coming from the children on the centre's efforts to include a variety of educational features in its activities.

For more information on the centre, call 21/27805130, e-mail tbexbix@gmail.com, or view the website www.tbexbix.org.
